Increase our REACH, O LORD!

I was looking at my Facebook page, Reflection of Glory, and I noticed the big discrepancy in the number of “Likes” a post receives and the number of people “Reached.”   One post only received 3 likes…but the number of people reached-the number of people that saw the post was 1,209!!

My goal for posting is to first glorify God!  But, I also want to reach as many people as I can to encourage, equip, and challenge them as we journey together.  And I pray that is the goal of our lives apart from social media as well — to first glorify God and next to reach as many people as we can for Him!

We may not receive praise and feedback from the people that we come into contact with…but that is not why we reach out to people.  I would say to you that you influence far more people than you realize on a day-to-day basis.  I don’t believe that we will really ever know how many people we have “reached” while we are still on this earth.  But, I do believe that we will come to that awareness once we reach our heavenly destination.

Lord, help us to reach out to those that we come into contact with – whether it’s through social media; church; our jobs; places of business, or someone we happen to connect with on the street. May we not do it for recognition or for our own self-glorification…but, for YOU, Lord! May YOU receive all the glory; all the praise; and all the “Likes!”  In Jesus’ Name, AMEN!!

THE HAND OF GOD

A few years ago, I was getting ready for work and as I reached for a towel … I noticed a small, baby lizard on the towel!  It was green, very small, and very quick!  I wanted to capture it and take it outside where I knew it should be.

I know that the small lizard seeing my big hand coming towards it was probably terrifying!  It didn’t know that I wasn’t going to hurt it.  I wanted to help it get to where it needed to be.  I wanted to place it in an environment where it would thrive and be happy.

I got a small glass to help capture it.  Five minutes later, I was still trying to coax it into that glass! My hand behind it…and the glass before it…and it just kept darting a different way from where I wanted it to go.

And isn’t that what our lives are like sometimes?  The Hand of God guiding and coaxing us to take the path He wants us to go.  He knows what environment we need to be in where we will thrive and be happy!  And yes…sometimes where He would have us go might look like that “glass” the lizard kept seeing.  And we say, “But LORD….that’s not where I am supposed to be!!”

Ahhhh, but the glass was just for me to get the lizard to it’s ultimate destination.  And sometimes my friends, the LORD has to “transport” us to where He wants us to ultimately be, by taking us there in ways we may not understand.

If you are in a place that feels a little uncomfortable;  if you are going through circumstances that don’t seem to be where you need to be….just allow the LORD to “carry” you through and know that His ultimate destination for you is waiting on the other side.

And we know that all things work together for good for those who love God, who are called according to His purpose. Romans 8:28

May I trust Your Hand upon me, LORD!!  And may I let You take me where I need to go…in whatever way you choose…

Remain in Motion!

About a year ago in South Florida I was sitting in our apartment looking out upon the small lake in front of our balcony. As I was enjoying the morning view, I saw three otters swimming in the lake! This was the first time I had seen otters during the two years of our living there. I was asking The Lord if this had any prophetic meaning and I was led to look up the characteristics of otters. I came across a sentence that jumped out at me:

“It [otter] must remain in motion to maintain its position at the surface.”

Brothers and Sisters, we must remain in motion – continuing to move forward in the anointing of the Holy Spirit – if we are to maintain our position of being more than conquerors through Christ Jesus! (Romans 8:37). We must remain in motion if we are to be used in greater ways upon this earth!

The enemy knows the power and authority we have in Christ Jesus! He will do everything he can to STOP us from moving. I know that there have been times in my life when I have found myself motionless because of the circumstances that have come against me. But, I have also found that during these times of being brought to a standstill, the Lord moves as I seek Him and call out to Him. And as He Moves, I am swept up in His Movement! Hallelujah!

As the otter swims and is upheld by the water and the movement of its body – so we are upheld and supported by the Rivers of Living Water that flow through us as we move as the body of Christ through the earth! GLORY!!

Get ready, Church, to move forward in power as our positions in the kingdom are strengthened!

Get ready, Church, as The Lord completes what He has been calling you to! You will begin to see doors opening and alignment of different aspects in your life as The Lord begins to streamline your movement forward.

GO WITH THE FLOW OF THE HOLY SPIRIT!! REMAIN IN MOTION!!

Praying Mantis – A Word For The Church

As I was washing a load of clothes, I walked past my laundry basket that I use for dirty towels. And there perched motionless on a towel was a baby praying mantis!

As I continued watching, it slowly started moving. I transported it gently outside where it needs to be for life!!

As I was thinking about it later, I started feeling that there was a prophetic meaning to this. However, I didn’t really seek the Lord about it immediately. I usually am not slow in putting to paper what I feel the Lord is saying through a circumstance in my life. The Lord used a dear friend to give me a little push through a comment he made!

As I began praying about this, I felt led to look up some facts about this insect. And as I began to look up the characteristics…I began to get revelation of what I believe the Lord is saying to His Church.

What I saw was definitely a baby. I believe we are in the beginning of a new season of prophetic intercession. We will begin to see a new level of intercession beginning to spread throughout the body of Christ. I sensed the “baby” was referring to the beginnings of this happening…not that it was immature. On the contrary – it will be stronger, more intense, and definitely will grow quickly!

The praying mantis was sitting on top of a pile of dirty towels. These towels were getting ready to be cleaned and washed. In John 13:4-5, Jesus humbly prepared Himself for ministry (washing the disciples feet) by wrapping a towel around Himself. As He washed His disciples’ feet, He dried them with the towel. I believe we are being called to look at our “towels”…what we are “clothed in” for ministry…and see if it needs to be cleansed! And we are to make sure we are ready to humbly get on our knees for the sake of others!

One characteristic of the praying mantis is that it is aggressive in getting what it needs. I believe in this new season of intercession, we will move from being predominantly reactive to situations seen – to a position of being proactive in moving in intercession to stop those things from happening that the Lord shows us. I use the word “aggressive” here not in a negative sense, but in the sense of being assertive, bold, and energetic. (American Heritage Dictionary)

These insects can turn their heads 180 degrees to scan their surroundings with two large compound eyes and three other simple eyes located between them. I believe the five eyes symbolizes the five-fold ministry of the Church. As the Apostles, Prophets, Evangelists, Pastors, and Teachers come together in unity…the Lord will use each of the ministries to work together to bring about His Vision for His body. They will be able to “see” with greater clarity what is coming and be able to work together to prepare the Church…through declaration, decree, teaching, and prophetic intercession.

Praying Mantis are well camouflaged on the plants among which they live. We, as prophetic intercessors, will be able to move within the communities and cities in which we live under the covering of Almighty God! I believe we will not be “camouflaged” in the sense of not being seen by others…but in the sense of not being seen by the enemy of our souls – Satan. We will have supernatural protection to move in power and authority in the kingdom of God. Hallelujah!!

Finally, it was interesting when I came across the meaning of Mantis in the Greek. It means prophet or seer!! Praying Prophet!! I like that!

So, dear Brothers and Sisters, I know this is a lot – it really ended up being more than I was anticipating. But, I have written down what I believe the Lord is saying. And, as usual, I encourage you to not just accept everything that I have placed before you…but to seek God’s confirmation on the truth of it. Blessed be the name of the Lord!!

I Raise My Hands To You, Oh God!

There was a time years ago when I didn’t lift up my hands to praise the Lord. I didn’t see others in my church doing it and I simply didn’t think that much about it. And when I did see someone doing it, I thought it was pretty “out there.”

But, as I continued to study God’s Word, I began to take notice of how many times the raising of hands was mentioned in worship!

Hmmm…maybe raising our hands in worship wasn’t so weird after all! But, I still couldn’t bring myself to do it. What would people think?

And then one Sunday morning, it happened. I felt the presence of the Lord and I felt HIS desire for me to raise my hands up high in the air as if reaching up to Him. I felt that in a way I was surrendering MY comfort and beginning a path of obedience to His direction.

It was as if this one step of turning my eyes toward Him and turning my eyes away from what others would think, opened the door for me to be able to worship God more deeply and more freely.

Now, I know the freedom of letting my heart for the Lord pour out in many different ways – not just with my words. Raising my hands, clapping, shouting, dancing, bowing, kneeling, and laying with my face to the ground are all ways that show more fully what I am feeling as I draw near to the Lord.

Dearest Brothers and Sisters, have you stepped out and allowed yourself to worship the King of kings in a new way? Have you felt sometimes the urge to lift your hands, but didn’t because of those around you?

My challenge to you today is if you are ready to step out of your comfort zone – close your eyes, reach up to grab the hands of Almighty God, and let your praise flow out freely, unhindered, no holding back.  Give it a try!

“Lift up your hands in the sanctuary and praise the Lord.” (Psalm‬ ‭134:2‬ ‭NIV‬)

“Ezra praised the Lord, the great God; and all the people lifted their hands and responded, “Amen! Amen!” Then they bowed down and worshiped the Lord with their faces to the ground.” (Nehemiah‬ ‭8:6‬ ‭NIV‬‬)

Journal the Journey!

Love my new journal!

When inspiration strikes, I write on anything handy–scraps of paper; church bulletins; index cards; backs of envelopes; and sometimes a quick note in my phone.

I hope to be a little more organized and disciplined in keeping all of these treasured “nuggets” of revelation from God in one place.

Do you have a special place to journal how God is moving and speaking in your life?   If not, why not join me today and start!  It will be one of the most treasured “books” you will ever own!

Speak Lord! Your servant is listening (and writing)!!

The White Feather

I was feeling a little down tonight. I began to straighten and clean off my bed … I tend to have little piles of books and index cards and Bibles scattered across the comforter.

Then, all of a sudden, I looked down and there it was – a white feather!  This has only happened to me once before – years ago in church.  The Lord uses so many ways to remind us He is there; that He loves and cares for us!

When I looked upon the white feather, it reminded me of the white feathers of a dove. And the dove is symbolic of the Holy Spirit.  It was as if I heard Him speaking, “I am here, Tina.  I am always here…”

You are welcome in my home, Holy Spirit!  You are welcome in my church and in my life!  Thank You for empowering me to live out my life glorifying Jesus!  Thank You for guiding me and giving me deeper revelation of God’s Truth!  Thank You for reminding me of Your Presence!  Blessed be the name of the Lord!!

“Now when all the people were baptized, Jesus was also baptized, and while He was praying, heaven was opened, and the Holy Spirit descended upon Him in bodily form like a dove, and a voice came out of heaven, “You are My beloved Son, in You I am well-pleased.””  (‭‭Luke‬ ‭3:21-22‬ ‭NASB‬‬)

“He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.” (‭‭Psalm‬ ‭91:4‬ ‭NIV‬‬)

Gentle “nudges” of God…

IMG_3180

As we draw closer and closer to the Lord…we begin to sense His gentle “nudges” to draw aside…to go a different direction.

As I was almost to the door on leaving a restaurant with food to take home…I found myself turning sharply aside and walking over to a table that had a group of four. I knew the husband and wife from attending different spiritual events that they had attended also. As soon as I said hi, I found myself quickly thinking,  “Why am I here?” (and I think they were wondering the same thing). LOL!

I looked at the two young people who were sitting opposite them and asked who they were. (pretty bold…) I was told that the beautiful young woman was their daughter and the handsome young man was their future son-in-law. They were getting married on Saturday and moving to Germany. He was from Germany and they had met while she was on a mission trip there.

Without realizing what was next, I found myself begin to speak blessing over their marriage and over the ministry that the Lord was getting ready to release in their lives! After I had spoken, I felt released to go and headed for the door.

As I was sitting in my car driving home…tears began to flow as I realized the Lord had used me to speak into the lives of this young couple. Don’t ignore those gentle nudges of the Lord!  He is ready to use you wherever you may be!  All honor and glory to our most high God!!

Time To Put Our House In Order!

cleaning 2

Cleaning is good…organizing is good…just be sensitive to the timing!  I started cleaning/organizing my house way too late last night and couldn’t complete before bedtime.  This morning I woke up to the results of my late planning!

I feel the connection between the physical and spiritual in all of this. Beloved, don’t wait until it is too late!  There are things that the Lord is calling you to do that you have been putting off.  Trust Him and know that His timing is perfect!  Begin now to follow through with what He has put before you!  He has prepared the way – it is time for you to join Him!

Lord, help me to be sensitive to Your timing as I clean, organize, and prepare spiritually for what is ahead of me.  May I not delay or put off what I feel You calling me to do. May I be obedient in stepping into the midst of what You have already prepared in my life. Thank You for calling me to repentance, forgiveness, discipline, obedience, and holiness!  Thank You for providing the way to do it – through the empowerment of the Holy Spirit!  I trust You, Lord, and I join You as my “house” is put in order!!  AMEN!

Leave Lukewarmness Behind!

Lord, may we passionately pursue You and Your will in our lives! May we be ready and willing to do those things that we see as too big for us to do and not take the “safe” path because we have fear of failure. YOU are our success and our victory!!

Lord, help us to turn from lukewarmness in our lives and in the life of our Churches and kindle a Fire within us that cannot be put out by those things going on around us!

Lord, help us to join together as Your glorious and mighty Church and may we achieve great things in Your Kingdom for Your glory!! In Jesus’ Name, AMEN!

“Far better it is to dare mighty things, to win glorious triumphs, even though checkered by failure, than to take rank with those poor spirits who neither enjoy much nor suffer much, because they live in the gray twilight that knows neither victory nor defeat.” (Theodore Roosevelt)

“I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other! So, because you are lukewarm—neither hot nor cold—I am about to spit you out of my mouth. Whoever has ears, let them hear what the Spirit says to the churches.” (Revelation 3:15,16, 22 NIV)
