Raise Us Up, O Lord!!

As I was sitting on the porch in the quiet of the morning and the coolness of the gentle breeze flowing over me, I drew near to the Lord and rested in His presence.

I began seeking Him for His word for the new year 2021.  A scripture flowed through my mind but did not stay. Then the scripture above settled and I began to meditate on it.

The New Year is a time of making new resolutions and new plans. We begin to list all of the things we want to change, make better, or simply add to our lives. Usually, they are good and healthy things. Some things we may want to get rid of altogether.

There is nothing wrong with doing a “life check” and judging where we are and where we need to be.  But, it is important to let God be a part of our “life check.”

We tend to have our own ideas, thoughts, and plans and never realize that the Lord has even BETTER ideas, thoughts, and plans for our lives!

I believe this new year will be a time of the unexpected. What WE think will happen and how it will be accomplished is thinking at a level far below that of the Lord.

Do we truly trust our God?  May 2021 be a time of maturing – in our faith, in our hope, and in our love. May we SPEAK our trust and belief!  May our words align with the heart and will of God!  May our ways and thoughts be raised to God’s level and may we not try and bring His down to our level.

RAISE US UP, O GOD!!

I’m entering 2021 with high expectations of God and in His ability to do more than we can even ask or think!!

REJOICE!!

“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.” (‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭13:8‬)

For many this Christmas will look differently than any Christmas in the past. Some will not be able to spend time with loved ones due to death, sickness, or quarantine. Some will be unable to afford gifts due to loss of income.

Yes, circumstances change. Everything around us can be shaken and uprooted. Nothing is guaranteed.  So where do we put our hope – in our government, in our jobs, in our doctors, in our church, in our family, in our friends, in our own ability and strength?

Dearest ones, if we choose to place our hope in anyone or anything other than Jesus Christ, we are setting ourselves up for disappointment. Circumstances change and people change.  But Jesus doesn’t change. He is the same – yesterday, today, and forever!  Hallelujah!!

During this Christmas season, let us remember that we have been given the greatest gift of all – Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior! He is our strong anchor. He is our strong foundation. He is our source of strength, healing, wisdom, love, joy, and peace.

Let us celebrate Jesus! Let us not only celebrate Him during this Christmas season, but let us celebrate Him every day of our lives. REJOICE!!

Why?

Sometimes we look at our lives and we ask God, “Why?”

We don’t understand why we are going through times of hurt; times of pain; times of weakness; times of warfare.

Beloved of God!  The Lord is with us in and through it all!  And not only is He with us…

But “…we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose”. (Romans 8:28)

Be assured, precious ones, that no matter what you are going through…no matter how bad it may seem…the Lord loves you!!

What the enemy would use for your destruction – The Lord will use to strengthen you…to equip you…to help you to become more than a mighty conqueror!

This is His promise…this is His Truth!  Believe it and declare it!

Our Greatest Blessing

“give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.” (1 Thessalonians 5:18)

Thanksgiving Day is tomorrow.  It is a day of gathering with family and enjoying good food and good company. It is a day of remembering the goodness of God and catching up on what has been happening in our lives.  It is a day of sharing our good times and supporting each other as we journey through the challenges of life.

Our plans for Thanksgiving Day with family will not happen. I am certain that there are many that have had to rethink and replan Thanksgiving and perhaps even Christmas because of the continuing threat of COVID.

We are disappointed. But, as I read and meditate on the Scripture above, I am reminded that in spite of my disappointment over not being able to be with family for Thanksgiving – I still have much to be thankful for.  I am to be thankful in all circumstances. No matter what is going on, I have much to be thankful for.

Even though I can’t be with my family in person, I am thankful for my family. I am thankful for video calling that allows us to connect virtually. I am thankful for being able to pick up a delicious Thanksgiving meal from Cracker Barrel. I am thankful to be able to help others have food during Thanksgiving. I am thankful for my loving husband and my beautiful home.

What are some of the things you are thankful for during this Thanksgiving season?  May we remember to be thankful in all seasons and in all circumstances.

Father, thank You for all the blessings in my life. Help me to focus on what I do have and not on those things that I don’t have. LORD, thank You for being my Greatest Blessing!! AMEN!!

Yet I Will Praise The LORD!!

“Though the fig tree should not blossom And there be no fruit on the vines, Though the yield of the olive should fail And the fields produce no food, Though the flock should be cut off from the fold And there be no cattle in the stalls, Yet I will exult in the LORD, I will rejoice in the God of my salvation. (‭‭Habakkuk‬ ‭3:17-18‬ ‭NASB)

This is such a good reminder that our praise of Almighty God is not dependent on how things are going on in our lives.  Our praise is not in response to our circumstances – but our praise is in response to who God is!

As we continue to journey through COVID –  we offer our undiluted praise to the LORD!!

As we walk in uncertainty of what our future holds – we offer our praises of faith to the LORD!!

I invite you to join me in wholehearted, faith-filled, joyful praise to the God of our salvation!! Our circumstances are constantly changing – but the LORD does not change! Hallelujah!!

“I will bless the Lord at all times; his praise shall continually be in my mouth.” (‭‭Psalm‬ ‭34:1‬ ‭ESV‬‬)

Blessing the LORD with you!
