PEACE

”Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your heart be troubled, nor let it be fearful.“ John‬ ‭14‬:‭27‬ ‭NASB1995‬‬

It is so tempting to search for our peace by looking at what is going on in our lives. If things are going the way we desire, we feel good and are at peace. BUT, if things are chaotic and we don’t understand why things are happening the way they are happening, it is very easy to let our peace disappear…we are fearful, angry, frustrated, depressed, etc.

This scripture reminds us that the peace that the world gives is not reliable. That peace is based on what is happening in the world. But, the peace that the Lord gives us transcends all that is happening around us!! We can have His peace as we are in the middle of the storms of life. It is that peace that is based on WHO GOD IS and not based on circumstances.

Brothers and Sisters, may we look for our peace in the right place. May we stop looking around us and may we focus on the LORD. HE IS OUR PEACE!!

I pray that “…the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:7

STIR THE FIRE!

How is your heart? Does it need to be “stirred up?” Is the fire still burning brightly? Has your passion for the Lord become lukewarm or are you still fervently serving Him and His people?

What things need to be sacrificed on your heart altar? What things have taken God’s place in your life? Some of these things may even be “good things” but if all of your energy and time is focused on them…and not the Lord…it may be time to reevaluate.

Brothers & Sisters, let’s join together and STIR THE FIRE!!! 🔥🔥🔥

Suffering…Job 1-2

“All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; so that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work.”
‭‭2 Timothy‬ ‭3‬:‭16‬-‭17‬ ‭

Do you have a favorite Book of the Bible? Or do you have a favorite Scripture? This past Sunday we studied Job 1-2 in my Women’s Sunday School Class. I have to admit that Job is not my ”go to” book of the Bible when I am reading God’s Word.

Reading about suffering is uncomfortable and Job can be a challenging study. But, even though there are things in the Bible that make us uncomfortable or that we have a hard time understanding totally – we must be careful not to just skip them.

ALL Scripture is inspired by God and helps us to grow in our Christian life. May we embrace our journey with the Lord through the good times and through our times of suffering. May our response to life’s challenges and suffering be like Job’s:

“…he fell to the ground and worshiped.”
‭‭Job‬ ‭1‬:‭20‬ ‭

“Through all this Job did not sin nor did he blame God.” Job‬ ‭1‬:‭22‬ ‭

Prayer:
Lord, I know that I have not had to experience the level of loss that Job did. But, I have had challenging times in my life. Forgive me when I have not responded in a God-honoring way. Forgive me when I have let my eyes focus on my circumstances instead of You! Thank You for walking with me through my times of adversity/suffering and my times of joy!

Blessed be Your name, O LORD!!

LORD, Open My Eyes!!

I am having my first cataract surgery tomorrow. It is amazing to me that the doctor will remove my lens and put a brand new lens in my eye!! What a miracle!

I have to admit that my excitement outweighs any nervousness I may have. I have worn glasses and/or contacts around 50 years!! The thought of waking up in the mornings and being able to see is awesome!!

Yes, I desire clear vision with my physical eyes…but even greater is my desire for clear vision spiritually! I pray that my renewed vision physically will be a sign of the renewing of my spiritual vision.

May I see what You see, Lord!! May I see past the physical and into the spiritual reality of Your kingdom. May I speak and declare YOUR will over Your people and Your world!

LORD, open my eyes!!!!
