Increase our REACH, O LORD!

I was looking at my Facebook page, Reflection of Glory, and I noticed the big discrepancy in the number of “Likes” a post receives and the number of people “Reached.”   One post only received 3 likes…but the number of people reached-the number of people that saw the post was 1,209!!

My goal for posting is to first glorify God!  But, I also want to reach as many people as I can to encourage, equip, and challenge them as we journey together.  And I pray that is the goal of our lives apart from social media as well — to first glorify God and next to reach as many people as we can for Him!

We may not receive praise and feedback from the people that we come into contact with…but that is not why we reach out to people.  I would say to you that you influence far more people than you realize on a day-to-day basis.  I don’t believe that we will really ever know how many people we have “reached” while we are still on this earth.  But, I do believe that we will come to that awareness once we reach our heavenly destination.

Lord, help us to reach out to those that we come into contact with – whether it’s through social media; church; our jobs; places of business, or someone we happen to connect with on the street. May we not do it for recognition or for our own self-glorification…but, for YOU, Lord! May YOU receive all the glory; all the praise; and all the “Likes!”  In Jesus’ Name, AMEN!!

THE HAND OF GOD

A few years ago, I was getting ready for work and as I reached for a towel … I noticed a small, baby lizard on the towel!  It was green, very small, and very quick!  I wanted to capture it and take it outside where I knew it should be.

I know that the small lizard seeing my big hand coming towards it was probably terrifying!  It didn’t know that I wasn’t going to hurt it.  I wanted to help it get to where it needed to be.  I wanted to place it in an environment where it would thrive and be happy.

I got a small glass to help capture it.  Five minutes later, I was still trying to coax it into that glass! My hand behind it…and the glass before it…and it just kept darting a different way from where I wanted it to go.

And isn’t that what our lives are like sometimes?  The Hand of God guiding and coaxing us to take the path He wants us to go.  He knows what environment we need to be in where we will thrive and be happy!  And yes…sometimes where He would have us go might look like that “glass” the lizard kept seeing.  And we say, “But LORD….that’s not where I am supposed to be!!”

Ahhhh, but the glass was just for me to get the lizard to it’s ultimate destination.  And sometimes my friends, the LORD has to “transport” us to where He wants us to ultimately be, by taking us there in ways we may not understand.

If you are in a place that feels a little uncomfortable;  if you are going through circumstances that don’t seem to be where you need to be….just allow the LORD to “carry” you through and know that His ultimate destination for you is waiting on the other side.

And we know that all things work together for good for those who love God, who are called according to His purpose. Romans 8:28

May I trust Your Hand upon me, LORD!!  And may I let You take me where I need to go…in whatever way you choose…

Praying Mantis – A Word For The Church

As I was washing a load of clothes, I walked past my laundry basket that I use for dirty towels. And there perched motionless on a towel was a baby praying mantis!

As I continued watching, it slowly started moving. I transported it gently outside where it needs to be for life!!

As I was thinking about it later, I started feeling that there was a prophetic meaning to this. However, I didn’t really seek the Lord about it immediately. I usually am not slow in putting to paper what I feel the Lord is saying through a circumstance in my life. The Lord used a dear friend to give me a little push through a comment he made!

As I began praying about this, I felt led to look up some facts about this insect. And as I began to look up the characteristics…I began to get revelation of what I believe the Lord is saying to His Church.

What I saw was definitely a baby. I believe we are in the beginning of a new season of prophetic intercession. We will begin to see a new level of intercession beginning to spread throughout the body of Christ. I sensed the “baby” was referring to the beginnings of this happening…not that it was immature. On the contrary – it will be stronger, more intense, and definitely will grow quickly!

The praying mantis was sitting on top of a pile of dirty towels. These towels were getting ready to be cleaned and washed. In John 13:4-5, Jesus humbly prepared Himself for ministry (washing the disciples feet) by wrapping a towel around Himself. As He washed His disciples’ feet, He dried them with the towel. I believe we are being called to look at our “towels”…what we are “clothed in” for ministry…and see if it needs to be cleansed! And we are to make sure we are ready to humbly get on our knees for the sake of others!

One characteristic of the praying mantis is that it is aggressive in getting what it needs. I believe in this new season of intercession, we will move from being predominantly reactive to situations seen – to a position of being proactive in moving in intercession to stop those things from happening that the Lord shows us. I use the word “aggressive” here not in a negative sense, but in the sense of being assertive, bold, and energetic. (American Heritage Dictionary)

These insects can turn their heads 180 degrees to scan their surroundings with two large compound eyes and three other simple eyes located between them. I believe the five eyes symbolizes the five-fold ministry of the Church. As the Apostles, Prophets, Evangelists, Pastors, and Teachers come together in unity…the Lord will use each of the ministries to work together to bring about His Vision for His body. They will be able to “see” with greater clarity what is coming and be able to work together to prepare the Church…through declaration, decree, teaching, and prophetic intercession.

Praying Mantis are well camouflaged on the plants among which they live. We, as prophetic intercessors, will be able to move within the communities and cities in which we live under the covering of Almighty God! I believe we will not be “camouflaged” in the sense of not being seen by others…but in the sense of not being seen by the enemy of our souls – Satan. We will have supernatural protection to move in power and authority in the kingdom of God. Hallelujah!!

Finally, it was interesting when I came across the meaning of Mantis in the Greek. It means prophet or seer!! Praying Prophet!! I like that!

So, dear Brothers and Sisters, I know this is a lot – it really ended up being more than I was anticipating. But, I have written down what I believe the Lord is saying. And, as usual, I encourage you to not just accept everything that I have placed before you…but to seek God’s confirmation on the truth of it. Blessed be the name of the Lord!!

Journal the Journey!

Love my new journal!

When inspiration strikes, I write on anything handy–scraps of paper; church bulletins; index cards; backs of envelopes; and sometimes a quick note in my phone.

I hope to be a little more organized and disciplined in keeping all of these treasured “nuggets” of revelation from God in one place.

Do you have a special place to journal how God is moving and speaking in your life?   If not, why not join me today and start!  It will be one of the most treasured “books” you will ever own!

Speak Lord! Your servant is listening (and writing)!!

Leave Lukewarmness Behind!

Lord, may we passionately pursue You and Your will in our lives! May we be ready and willing to do those things that we see as too big for us to do and not take the “safe” path because we have fear of failure. YOU are our success and our victory!!

Lord, help us to turn from lukewarmness in our lives and in the life of our Churches and kindle a Fire within us that cannot be put out by those things going on around us!

Lord, help us to join together as Your glorious and mighty Church and may we achieve great things in Your Kingdom for Your glory!! In Jesus’ Name, AMEN!

“Far better it is to dare mighty things, to win glorious triumphs, even though checkered by failure, than to take rank with those poor spirits who neither enjoy much nor suffer much, because they live in the gray twilight that knows neither victory nor defeat.” (Theodore Roosevelt)

“I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other! So, because you are lukewarm—neither hot nor cold—I am about to spit you out of my mouth. Whoever has ears, let them hear what the Spirit says to the churches.” (Revelation 3:15,16, 22 NIV)

Little Moments

IMG_1357

Life is made up of little moments.

It is always exciting when we experience the “big moments”…getting married; the birth of children, grandchildren; holding a diploma…I know you can think of others I haven’t mentioned.

Sometimes we focus and strive towards the next big moment and we forget to enjoy and truly LIVE in the moment we are in!

Life is made up of many, many little moments. Let’s not let them slide by unnoticed. Each one is precious…each one is a gift…each one impacts our life and the life of others in ways we are not aware of.

Lord, help me to live in the moment!

A NEW DAY!

I hear The Lord saying:

“Don’t be overwhelmed by all the things that you see around you that are not My best.

Don’t put the burden on yourself that you have to fix everything that needs to be fixed.

Seek Me and walk in the anointing and purpose that I have called you to.

You cannot do everything…but you have My authority and power to accomplish great things within the territory that I have assigned you to.

Focus on what I have called you to focus on.  Don’t let distraction eat away at the Vision that I have placed within you.

Align yourself with Me and get ready to move forward in acceleration and power!

It’s a new day!!  Embrace it!”

Soaring!

Do you not know?
    Have you not heard?
The Lord is the everlasting God,
the Creator of the ends of the earth.
He will not grow tired or weary,
and his understanding no one can fathom.
He gives strength to the weary
and increases the power of the weak.
Even youths grow tired and weary,
    and young men stumble and fall;
but those who hope in the Lord
    will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles;
they will run and not grow weary,
they will walk and not be faint.

Isaiah 40:28-31  HCSB

“All in” for Christ!

As I am sitting here before the computer, I feel a stirring within my spirit.  I know that the Lord is moving mightily behind the scenes in our lives and in the life of His Church.  He is preparing us; pruning us; and equipping us to walk in greater boldness and authority.  The time has come for us to make a decision to be “all in” for Christ!  He is calling some to transition into places/positions that will allow Him to move in and through you in greater impact for His kingdom.  Do not let fear of the unknown stop you from taking that step!  Do not let disappointment that it is not what you planned stop you from taking that step!  May each of us embrace His Plan with open arms!  Have Your way, O Lord!!

DRINK DEEP!

IMG_0147.JPG

It has been so hot in North Florida this summer!!  Because of the lack of rain, I have been turning on the sprinklers and even using the water hose to water by hand our new grass seed and yard.

I find myself actually enjoying standing in the yard and holding the hose as the life-giving water flows to the thirsty grass and plants.  I feel so relaxed and at peace and full of joy as I give my plants what they need.

And isn’t this how the Lord must feel as He lets His Living Water flow upon our thirsty souls and spirits? I hear the Lord saying to us:

Beloved, are you thirsty?

Beloved, are you dry?

Come to Me and be filled.

Come to Me and be drenched

in My life-giving Water.

Let My Water seep down

into the roots of your need.

Let My Water cause new life

to rise up within you.

I am here; I am with you.

Drink deep…
