IMG_1246There is such joy in walking in the calling that God has placed upon our lives!! There is such joy in using our spiritual gifts for others!!

I attended a church service in my community tonight. My plan was to just go and receive. And I did indeed receive – encouragement, confirmation, and love from those attending…along with solid biblical teaching!

But, the Lord also used me for others as well. I prophesied over 5 people there as a result of visions He gave me for them. Thank You, Lord!!

I have found that when we have a spiritual gift, it is hard to just “turn it off!” And why would we want to? God gives His gifts to be used!

Are you walking in your gift? Are you using it for His glory? Are you experiencing the joy that comes from ministering to others?

It is time to step out in faith and take your position in the body of Christ! You are needed and God will use you mightily!

Perfect Church Service

Sometimes we get so caught up in critiquing the service – the worship music; the sermon; and even those attending…that we forget the reason we are there – to worship Almighty God!!

Everything about the church service should lead us into the presence of God…to initiate a face-to-face encounter.

If we walk away from our churches with the “service” filling our thoughts instead of God…something needs to be changed!

Reflection of Glory!

Each day is a gift!  May we open it with excitement and great expectation!

Sometimes when we open real gifts, we may encounter disappointment when it doesn’t turn out to be what we expected or hoped for.

But, we can be assured that if we look at each day through the eyes of the Lord, we will see that each day is exactly what we need to grow and to be a part of His “grand plan” for us.

And what is His grand plan?  To be transformed into His image…2 Corinthians 3:18 NET

“And we all, with unveiled faces reflecting the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another, which is from the Lord, who is the Spirit.” 

May we reflect His glory wherever we are and in whatever we do!!

RIGHTEOUSNESS

My dear brothers and sisters, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry, because human anger does not produce the righteousness that God desires. (James 1:19-20 NIV)

Dearest one,

I see and feel your anger. I know that you think it is justified. I know that you have been hurt and believe it is right for your response to be anger. 

But, I am calling you to a higher response – a response of Love; a response of Compassion; a response of Forgiveness.  

Now is the opportunity for you to grow in the righteousness that I desire. Now is the time for you to allow Me to work in this situation to bring about good. Are you willing? Will you lay down the “right” to be angry and allow Me to replace it with My RIGHTeousness??  

Come to Me and walk with Me and I will help you…

JESUS IS OUR PATTERN!

As I sit quietly sipping my coffee this morning, I hear the Lord saying:

“I have not called you to be like everyone else.”

I don’t know about you, but sometimes I have a problem with comparing myself to others.  Especially those that I believe are further along God’s path than I am.

As I was hearing God’s Word to me this morning, I knew it was not just for me…but for all of us!

Brothers & Sisters, we are each uniquely and beautifully created!  God delights in our uniqueness. He takes delight in seeing us moving and ministering in the Gifts He has placed within us through the Holy Spirit.

Don’t ever feel that you are lacking or not good enough!  Don’t ever feel that God could not possibly use you!  He is abundantly able to do wonderful and powerful things through YOU!!

We may not be doing things exactly how we see someone else doing them – but God has called us to do things as we see HIM doing them!!

May we seek the Lord in the coming days and pattern ourselves after His guidance and direction and not rely on patterning ourselves after other people.

JESUS is our pattern!

“…be renewed in the spirit of your minds, and… put on the new self, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness.”  (‭Ephesians‬ ‭4:23-24‬ ‭ESV‬‬)

“Truly, truly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do, he will do also; and greater works than these he will do; because I go to the Father.”  (John‬ ‭14:12‬ ‭NASB‬‬)

LOOK UP!

The RAIN finally came!! As I was in Choir practice, I could hear the downpour outside and the cracking and rumbling of thunder.

But as I left the church, I saw it had stopped. As I got closer to my home, my attention was drawn to the night sky – beautiful!!

But what awaited me at home was not! My husband reported seeing hail (in Florida!) and the indoor/outdoor carpet on my porch was soaked. One bird feeder pole was on the ground…the other one leaning to the side. One heavy potted rose bush was about 2 feet from where it usually sat on the patio. And my poor plants looked like they had been in a boxing match!

My husband estimated that the wind gusted about 50mph at times. When I got home all I saw was the result. There was no wind, no rain, and no thunder.

And as I saw the devastation on the ground, I once again looked up and saw the beauty in the night sky – reminding me to keep my sight on things above – reminding me to keep my sight on God!

In the coming days, we may not see what is happening spiritually…but we definitely will see the result!

Open our eyes, LORD, that we may SEE!  Open our ears, LORD, that we may HEAR!  And open our mouths, LORD, that we may PRAY!img_1076


RUNNERS OF LIFE

It’s the time of year when new life is bursting forth!  I have found myself buying new plants and repotting them for my porch and patio and also repotting old plants to give them a new place to expand their growth.  I also have been noticing many brown patches in my acre yard where the grass is suffering because of lack of water.

We don’t have in ground water sprinklers…so we either have to hook up the sprinkler every day and let it run…or I pick up the hose and water it myself.  I have to admit that I truly enjoy standing in my yard, with the hose in hand, intentionally watering those spots that need it.  As I am watering, I either am listening to worship music through my earphones or I am quietly reflecting on different things that come to my mind.

Most of the time, my thoughts go to the Lord and I talk to Him or position myself to listen to Him – position myself spiritually – intentionally turning my mind and thoughts and spirit towards Him.

A few days ago, as I was standing watering one of the bare spots in my yard, I found my eyes looking at the grass runners that were slowly beginning to reach out across the spot that needed the grass covering.

I began to get a spiritual application from the Lord.  This is a frequent occurrence in my life – God revealing spiritual connections to me through physical things.  [Thank You, Lord!]

We have “bare places” in our lives that need watering…that need the living water of the Holy Spirit to drench and soak so that new life can spring forth.  As we position ourselves to receive the life-giving water from the Lord, “spiritual runners” will begin to not only fill-in the bare places in our own lives…but these “runners” will begin to reach out and connect with others!

The Lord is actively moving in our circumstances and lives to cover our places of lack and need with His abundant grace and provision!  Hallelujah!  We will begin to see these “runner connections” as we are divinely connected with others…one-on-one and corporately within our own churches and from church-to-church. 

Now is the time to seek the Lord and to let Him fill our emptiness; cover our bareness; and release the “runners” of spiritual and physical growth in our lives!

The one who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, will have streams of living water flow from deep within him.  John 7:38

And He said to me, It is done!  I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End.  I will give water as a gift to the thirsty from the spring of life.  Revelation 21:6

He turns a desert into a pool of water, dry land into springs of water.  Psalms 107:35

 

 

 

Can’t Sleep?

I have found that some of my best times with the Lord are late at night or early, early morning (3:00-4:30am).

I don’t choose to not sleep or to wake up that early…but sometimes He invites me for a late nite chat or early morning wake up call. And I don’t ever want to miss an opportunity to connect with Him!!

So! If you can’t sleep – don’t fret – draw near to God and be assured, He is ready to draw near to you!
