LOVE…

This commandment of God is fairly simple and straightforward:  Love God and love others.  But, there is an extension on the last part…we are to love others AS we love ourselves.

What we hope for ourselves we should hope for others – happiness, health, and a life succeeding in all that God has purposed for us.  And if we follow through with that, it is not a “selfish” love…but a love that hopes and desires the best for others.

To have a healthy “self-love” we need to see ourselves as God sees us.  We need to walk in the identity that we have in Christ Jesus.  That identity from God enables us to love others out of a healthy, secure place of knowing our place in God’s kingdom.  (more on identity for a later time…)

Who is our neighbor?  I don’t look at the word neighbor as pertaining to how well we know someone.  But, I look at the word neighbor as pertaining to who is within our “sphere” at any given time.  Our neighbor could be that person who lives right next door or across the street from us.  But, it could also be that person who we come across in the grocery store or gas station that we don’t know at all.  I believe our neighbor is whoever the Lord puts in our path at any given time.

The most important and critical part of this commandment is the first part – to love God!  And how do we love Him?  We love Him with EVERYTHING we have – heart, soul, strength, and mind!!  We don’t love Him with PART of our heart, soul, strength, and mind–we love Him with ALL…completely!

I invite you to join me in meditating on what it would look like if we were to love Him to that degree each day.  What would we change; what would we do differently?  How would we “walk that out” in our day-to-day lives?

I believe it is impossible to love others and to love ourselves in the way that God calls us to, unless we have the first part in place — LOVING GOD.  As we love God, we are able to love others as ourselves.  HE must come first…and then everything else will fall in line.

HIS LOVE flowing through us will change not only our lives, but the lives of others!  HALLELUJAH!!

On this Valentine’s Day, may we pour out our love on the LORD OUR GOD and then allow the love that He pours out on us to flow in an unending stream in and through us to others.

BLESSINGS & LOVE, dear Brothers and Sisters!

Never Alone!

So…I’m sitting in the airport in Atlanta all alone. Alone except for the droves of people going here and there to eat or catch a flight. But, everyone has their attention on their destination and not really on what is happening around them.

I feel like I’m on an island in the heaving waters of the ocean. So much activity around me…but I am on an island of calm.

I feel the sweet, calm presence of the Lord as my companion. I talk to Him silently as I watch the people pass by; I talk to him as thoughts drift across my consciousness; I share with Him my joys and my concerns.

And best of all – He shares His thoughts with me! He tells me of His joys and His concerns; He shares with me His plans for what is coming in my life and ministry.

I am so thankful and humbled that God actually wants to hang out at the airport with me! WOW!! What an awesome God we serve!

No, I’m not alone…I’m never alone! 💥❤️

Oh God, I love…

Oh God! I love Your commandments; I love Your guidance and Your wisdom and Your love and Your faithfulness!

Your words are a light upon the path before me. Darkness may be all around me…but Your light cuts through the darkness!

I love Your name and I desire for it to be continually on my lips and in my heart. May Your name be my strong tower that no forces can penetrate!

❤️I love You, LORD!❤️

Relax and Renew

I love when God speaks to me through “signs!” He has gotten my attention through signs on trucks; road signs; signs on buildings; and now a sign in a bookstore.

Yesterday, I felt God’s love and attention while sitting with friends drinking tea in a bookstore coffee shop. I was enjoying this precious time of friendship when I glanced past them into the bookstore itself.

There, right in my line of vision, were the words RELAX and RENEW on a book table sign. Yes, Lord!! I hear You!!

I am reminded that in the midst of pouring out in ministry to others, we need to take time for ourselves. We need to relax and be renewed in God’s presence!

There must be balance! There is a time of pouring out and there is a time of being filled. I am so blessed that I am entering a season of God using me in many ministry settings! And I am so blessed that I have this time of entering into rest, relaxation, and being renewed as I go forward in focus and preparation.

God knows what we need and when we need it! He is so faithful and loves us so much. May we take the time to listen to Him however He chooses to speak: through His Word; through music; through prayer; and yes, even through signs! Hallelujah!!

Who Am I, LORD?

Who am I , LORD,
that You would show me favor?
Who am I, LORD,
that You would speak to me
and let me know Your love?
I am so humbled, LORD,
that You would turn Your Face toward me
and rest Your eyes upon me.
Who am I, LORD,
but one who adores and worships You!
I cannot express how honored I am
that You have chosen to have a relationship with me.
I cannot express how much I love You…

You are SUPERNATURAL!

“If you are always trying to be normal, you will never know how amazing you can be!” ~Maya Angelou

Brothers & Sisters, be who God has called you to be! We don’t need to look at others to be our “example.” We don’t have to try and “fit in.”

Jesus is our example!! We are to look at His life and ministry to see what our “normal” should look like.

Our “normal” is to be supernatural!! Why? Because we have a supernatural God living within us! The Holy Spirit empowers us to live a life beyond the “natural!” [see Mark 16:17-18; Matthew 10:8; John 14:12…]

We are empowered to be overcomers…to be world changers…to make a difference!!

God calls us to impact the world – one person at a time. And He has given us everything we need to accomplish His call!

He’s calling – are you ready?

Even Though…

We may not have fig trees, grapevines, olive crops, flocks, and cattle … but we all have those physical things that sustain us in life.

There are times when things seem to be falling apart around us! And it is during those times that we have to dig deep inside of ourselves and realize that even though our circumstances may look bleak – our God is still shining brightly!

The God of our salvation is still with us; He is still moving on our behalf; He is indeed our strength when all we feel is weak.

What are you going through, beloved of God? You may not be able to rejoice in the circumstances…but rejoice in the Lord who is with you in them! Rejoice in the Lord who can use those circumstances to bring good into your life!

And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. Romans‬ ‭8:28‬ ‭NIV‬‬

You are loved!!
