Little Moments

IMG_1357

Life is made up of little moments.

It is always exciting when we experience the “big moments”…getting married; the birth of children, grandchildren; holding a diploma…I know you can think of others I haven’t mentioned.

Sometimes we focus and strive towards the next big moment and we forget to enjoy and truly LIVE in the moment we are in!

Life is made up of many, many little moments. Let’s not let them slide by unnoticed. Each one is precious…each one is a gift…each one impacts our life and the life of others in ways we are not aware of.

Lord, help me to live in the moment!

GIFT OF THE DAY!

gold gift

Each day is a gift from God! We can look at it; guess what is in it; admire the pretty wrapping; or grab ahold of it and open it up with joy and excitement!!

Our Lord is the perfect Gift Giver! He knows exactly what we need and when we need it.

“This is the day which the LORD has made; Let us rejoice and be glad in it.”
(Psalms 118:24 NASB)

A NEW DAY!

IMG_0423.JPG

I hear The Lord saying:

“Don’t be overwhelmed by all the things that you see around you that are not My best.

Don’t put the burden on yourself that you have to fix everything that needs to be fixed.

Seek Me and walk in the anointing and purpose that I have called you to.

You cannot do everything…but you have My authority and power to accomplish great things within the territory that I have assigned you to.

Focus on what I have called you to focus on.  Don’t let distraction eat away at the Vision that I have placed within you.

Align yourself with Me and get ready to move forward in acceleration and power!

It’s a new day!!  Embrace it!”

HONOR

IMG_3363

It is an extreme honor to be recognized for something that you have put your heart and time into.

And I received this honor when I was recognized as Teacher of the Year by Westside Elementary School and then was also awarded the Ruth I. Shuler 2001-2002 Teaching Excellence Award by the Baker County School District.

To be honored for my teaching by my school and then by my school district…and then having the opportunity to compete with other teachers in the State of Florida for state recognition…could there be a greater honor than this?

And then when I retired in June 2011, I discovered there was a greater honor!  I was completely overwhelmed as the School Superintendent presented me with a beautiful plaque recognizing my ministry in prayer during my years of teaching.

As with all public schools, we were not allowed to have prayer as a part of our school day. Prayer in schools was done away with years ago.  But, when you are a vessel of the Living God, you are a vessel of prayer – that cannot be taken away by man.

I had the opportunity to pray for our county schools, for our teachers, and for our students with other committed Christians during each school year.  But, even more precious was the opportunity to pray with teachers I worked with and to walk through their joys and sorrows with them; having the opportunity to pray with mothers during parent conferences; and being able to pray over my classroom and over each child’s desk.

I have a precious memory of a little 6 year old girl holding my hand and looking up at me with big trusting eyes as we were walking and saying, “Mrs. Roach, would you pray for my daddy?  He is trying to find a job.”  Was she told by a parent to ask me or did she just reach out to me on her own?  I don’t know – but I prayed with her as we were walking – such a tender, precious moment.

Yes, being recognized for my teaching was a great honor.  But, being recognized for my ministry in prayer was an even greater honor.

Whatever your career, job, or calling…remember prayer is an important, necessary part in fulfilling your life’s work.  And prayer is necessary in living a fulfilling life!

Lord, I am thankful for the honor bestowed upon me by my friends and peers.  But, nothing can compare to the blessing of walking in Your will.  No honor can compare to being able to bring YOU glory and honor!  My hope is to one day stand before You and hear the words, “Well done, good and faithful servant.”  Now THAT is the ultimate honor!!!  I love You, Lord…

PLANTING OF THE LORD!

palm tree 3.jpeg

I know that this has been a time of transition for some of you as the Lord has moved you physically to a new place to live. And I know that some of you are in a time of transition that involves a change in ministry. And some of you are in a “waiting season” as the Lord is preparing you for what is coming.

No matter what season you find yourself in at this moment, it is important to realize that the Lord wants to use you wherever you may be! Even if you know that where you are now is not where you will be in a year…don’t put your days on hold!

The Lord wants you to live fully and abundantly and joyfully NOW! Yes, more is coming! But, don’t miss out on what the Lord has for you now while you are waiting.

 Bloom where you are planted!

Be intentional about being fully engaged with the Lord and with others no matter what your circumstances are at this moment. He wants to use you and bless you even in the times of waiting.

And when He sees that you are faithful with the little, He will release the more upon your life!!

You are a planting of the LORD!

The righteous thrive like a palm tree

and grow like a cedar tree in Lebanon.

Planted in the house of the Lord,

they thrive in the courts of our God.

They will still bear fruit in old age,

healthy and green,

to declare: “The Lord is just;

He is my rock, and

there is no unrighteousness in Him.

(Psalms 92:12-15  HCSB)

Soaring!

Do you not know?
    Have you not heard?
The Lord is the everlasting God,
the Creator of the ends of the earth.
He will not grow tired or weary,
and his understanding no one can fathom.
He gives strength to the weary
and increases the power of the weak.
Even youths grow tired and weary,
    and young men stumble and fall;
but those who hope in the Lord
    will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles;
they will run and not grow weary,
they will walk and not be faint.

Isaiah 40:28-31  HCSB

POPCORN

IMG_0811.JPG

Some of you are feeling the heat of adversity in your lives.

The Lord gave me a vision of popcorn.

In order for the small hard kernel of corn to be transformed into the fluffy, white popcorn – heat must be added.

Sometimes The Lord allows adversity and trials in our lives for the purpose of using them to mold, shape, and transform us into the person we are meant to be.

Lord, help me to walk through the fire and come out on the other side being more of who You have called me to be!

Break through any hardness that keeps me from being pliable in Your hands!

Expand me, Lord, so I can be of greater use in Your kingdom! Amen!

OUR STRONGHOLD!

castle 5

How much of God do we want to see manifested in our lives?  Well…it all depends on how much of ourselves we are willing to give to Him. The parts of our lives that are filled up with OUR plans and OUR desires leave no room for God to do the extraordinary things He wants to do in and through us!

It is time to release OUR hold on our lives…and receive HIS hold upon us! He is our STRONGHOLD!!

“…he is my steadfast love and my fortress, my stronghold and my deliverer, my shield and he in whom I take refuge…” (Psalm 144:2 ESV)

SLEEP…

sleep

Sleep eludes me.
Why is it so hard to let go…to not think of things left undone?  How do I stop thinking of those things I would like to change or do differently?

It is easier to just let others do…to hang back in the shadows and not be visible and let others take the lead.

But, You have placed a burning, passionate Fire within me, Lord!  I cannot sit still. I cannot stand in the shadows for long…I MUST dance in the Light! I cannot keep silent, with hands folded…I MUST shout with joy and raise my hands heavenward!!

Sleep eludes me. But, that’s okay. I’ll just spend the time thinking of more ways to worship You, my precious Lord.

Things left undone and things that need changing begin to fade away as I turn my face and thoughts toward the brilliance of Your glorious presence! I would rather be with You, Lord, than sleep!!

Sleep eludes me…but YOU are here, dearest Lord!  HALLELUJAH!!

“All in” for Christ!

As I am sitting here before the computer, I feel a stirring within my spirit.  I know that the Lord is moving mightily behind the scenes in our lives and in the life of His Church.  He is preparing us; pruning us; and equipping us to walk in greater boldness and authority.  The time has come for us to make a decision to be “all in” for Christ!  He is calling some to transition into places/positions that will allow Him to move in and through you in greater impact for His kingdom.  Do not let fear of the unknown stop you from taking that step!  Do not let disappointment that it is not what you planned stop you from taking that step!  May each of us embrace His Plan with open arms!  Have Your way, O Lord!!
