FORGIVENESS

“Everyone thinks forgiveness is a lovely idea until he has something to forgive.”              ~CS Lewis, Mere Christianity

Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving one another, just as God also forgave you in Christ.   (Ephesians 4:32  HCSB)

The Lord is teaching me more and more that forgiveness is an absolute necessity if we want to be able to live our lives in the fullness that He desires for us.

As we walk this journey that unfolds before us, it is almost certain that someone at some point will offend us or hurt us with their words or actions.  And it is almost certain that at some point in our lives we will say or do something that will offend or hurt someone else.

I know that I have had regrets and sorrow at things that I have said or done that I realized later were not how I am to behave in love.  I have first gone to the Lord and asked His forgiveness…and then gone to the person and asked their forgiveness.

If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.  (1 John 1:9  HCSB)

Brothers and Sisters in Christ, may we intentionally walk in forgiveness in the days ahead.  Unforgiveness is like a spiritual cancer that eats away at our witness for Christ. It hinders us from being able to Love like He desires us to Love.  If you are holding onto any unforgiveness in your life…seek the Lord today!  Let HIM touch that sore place in your heart and spirit and begin the healing that is necessary.

Jesus is our example!  While on the cross, suffering deeply – emotionally, spiritually, and physically – He said, “Father, forgive them, because they do not know what they are doing.”  (Luke 23:34  HCSB)

Beloved, with Jesus’ help, LET IT GO!

“To forgive is to set a prisoner free and discover the prisoner was you.”    ~Corrie Ten Boom

The Lord wants you to walk in FREEDOM!!  May you find that freedom today through forgiveness…

DO YOU KNOW HIM?

Do you know how much you are loved?

I know Someone who willingly laid down His life for you and has a “bank account” with unlimited funds with your name on it!

I know Someone who loves you so much that He is ready to protect you from anything and everything that would want to cause your destruction.

I know Someone who has an undying love for you and wants to be with you every second of the day and night 24/7.

Do you know this Someone, too?

HEART TO HEART

I love to start my day with Him,
just being in His presence,
breathing in His lovely fragrance,
feeling His love and loving Him back.
I look up and join the angels
in worship around the throne.
My voice is one among many –
but He hears me.
His eyes pick me out among all those
worshipping before Him.
For a moment there is just the two of us
Heart to heart – joining as one
and then I am back home.
But, He is still with me,
I love You, Lord…

WAKE UP, SLEEPER!

It was Saturday night of the Healing & Miracle Conference in Jacksonville, FL. We were praising and worshipping our Wonderful Lord through the song, “Resurrection Power.”

At one point, I was so overcome with His presence that I fell to my knees and dropped my head to the carpet and covered my face.

As the song continued I began to see a vision of Jesus standing before the tomb of Lazarus with his right arm outstretched and saying in a powerful voice, “Lazarus, come forth.” (John 11:43)

I then saw Lazarus leave the tomb with his grave clothes swirling and floating about him. Immediately, I felt the Lord give me interpretation:

Lazarus represents the Church. Jesus is calling to His Church, His Bride, “Come forth!”

He wants us to leave all of the death and lifelessness behind. He wants to unbind us from our grave clothes–everything that is keeping us from living in the fullness that He has destined for us–and let us walk out into the world with His resurrection power!

Later, as I was discussing this vision with my friend, the Lord revealed more:

When Jesus came to Lazarus’ tomb, Mary fell at His feet, saying, “Lord, if you had been here, my brother would not have died.” (John 11:32).

Many have been praying for the Church of the living God to arise and walk out into the world in power!

It may look like the Lord is not hearing our prayers. It may look like God is late. Mary thought the Lord should have come earlier…before Lazarus died.

BUT! Jesus came in His perfect timing…not Mary’s timing but His. And Jesus is coming in perfect timing to His Church!

Just as Jesus said to His disciples, “Our friend Lazarus has fallen asleep; but I go so that I may awaken him out of sleep” …so Jesus is saying to us …I am coming so that I may awaken you out of sleep!!

WAKE UP, SLEEPER!

Ahhhhh, LORD!!  Thank You for Your perfect timing!  Thank You that You are calling forth Your End Time Army!  Thank You that Your strength is made perfect in our weakness! Thank You for Your love of Your Bride! Thank You for awakening us to our destiny!!

MAUNDY THURSDAY

Today is Maundy Thursday, also known as Holy Thursday and it marks the beginning of the three day celebration of Easter.

“Maundy” is derived from the Latin word “mandatum” which means commandment.

Maundy Thursday is the name given to the day on which Jesus celebrated Passover with his disciples, also known as the Last Supper.

It falls on the Thursday before Good Friday and Christians use it as a time to reflect and remember the Last Supper.

While they were eating, Jesus took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and gave it to his disciples, saying, “Take and eat; this is my body.” Then he took a cup, and when he had given thanks, he gave it to them, saying, “Drink from it, all of you. This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins. I tell you, I will not drink from this fruit of the vine from now on until that day when I drink it new with you in my Father’s kingdom.””  (Matthew‬ ‭26:26-29‬ ‭NIV‬‬)

And he took the bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, “This is my body given for you; do this in remembrance of me.”  In the same way, after the supper he took the cup, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which is poured out for you.”  (Luke 22: 19-20 NIV)

During the Last Supper, Jesus commanded his disciples to remember what He was about to do on behalf of all mankind: shed His blood on the cross to pay the debt of our sins.

This day also commemorates Jesus washing the feet of his disciples. As he did so, he gave them this mandatum, or command:

“Now that I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one another’s feet. I have set you an example that you should do as I have done for you.”  (John‬ ‭13:14-15‬ ‭NIV)‬‬

We remember the Last Supper and celebrate it in our churches through Communion.  But, I have not participated in “foot washing” that often in churches.  It is a very humbling act for the one washing and for the one being ministered to.  I have done both and have found it to be a very powerful reminder of how we are to serve one another.

Today, may we not only remember what Jesus did for us in His willing sacrifice of His body as the Spotless Lamb of God…but, may we also remember His example of kneeling before his disciples and washing the dirt and dust from their feet.

Lord, may we serve You and serve others with a humble heart!!

DO YOU BELIEVE?

I was so blessed to be able to pray for our waitress as a friend and I had a late breakfast in a local restaurant today.

“Can I pray with you? Do you have a need this morning?” That is all it takes to open the door to being that connection between God and a miracle waiting to be released into a person’s life!!

Do you believe that?? Do you believe that God not only WANTS to use you…but WILL use you to bring healing, restoration, deliverance, hope, encouragement, and love to others?

If you do believe…I would encourage you to be BOLD! Take the opportunity to be that person that God can use to change a person’s life for His glory!!

Are you willing? Be expectant as you go about your day tomorrow! Speak Life! Speak Blessing!! Speak Love!!

MIGHTY FLOW!

He who believes in Me, as the Scripture said, “”From his innermost being will flow rivers of living water.” John 7:38

Are the rivers of the Holy Spirit flowing from us to a thirsty world? If not…what is stopping the flow? Are there things in our lives that are blocking the rivers? Let’s allow the Holy Spirit to “clean out” anything in us that would hinder the Mighty Flow!!!

Lord, if there is anything in me that is contrary to the Truth of who I am in Christ Jesus, I ask that You show me. I repent of it and embrace Your Truth! FLOW RIVERS, FLOW!!!

LEAVE THE VALLEY BEHIND!

“God does not further our spiritual Life in spite of our circumstances, but in and by our circumstances.”   ~Oswald Chambers

“And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.”      Romans‬ ‭8:28‬ ‭NASB‬‬

It is comforting to me to realize that no matter what happens in my life, God can use it to mold and shape me into a better person.  He can use circumstances to give me a greater understanding; a deeper revelation; and a deeper love for those that have gone through the same thing.

He uses circumstances that could devastate and destroy us as tools to draw us closer to Him.  He uses these times to exhibit His strength as we are at our weakest.

Beloved, are you in a valley right now?  Do you feel the darkness around you and believe there is no way out?  Do not fear!! God is with you!  HE HAS A PLAN!!

His plan is to guide you through the darkness into the Light!  His plan is to release His peace and strength within you so you can climb out of the valley with Him.  And as you look back on this “valley time” you will see how God used this time to raise you to greater heights!

Look up!!  Do you see the Lord’s hand reaching out to you?  Grab it and leave the valley behind!!
